For Aid Professionals

Professionals involved in the design and implementation of aid programs in Geneva and around the world, such as staff members of international agencies and NGOs, as well as government officials in recipient countries, must manage increasing volumes of information, and adapt to new standards for sharing data (e.g. IATI).

With the rise of the transparency and open data movements, and the multiplication of actors and communication channels, humanitarian and development experts are exposed to vast and quickly expanding collections of online resources (websites, aid information management systems and international databases, social media, etc.).

Moreover, aid practitioners need to understand where their work fits in the post-2015 development agenda (17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets) and how new trends and the priorities of numerous players interconnect in an increasingly complex ecosystem.
